Father David Endres Named Editor of U.S. Catholic Historian
The Rev. David Endres, assistant professor of church history and historical theology, has been named editor of U.S. Catholic Historian, a scholarly journal devoted to the history of the Catholic Church in the United States. The journal is published quarterly by Catholic University of America Press and has a circulation of 600. It is in its thirty first year of publication.
Father Endres has been assistant editor of the journal since 2003. He currently is serving as co-editor with Dr. Christopher J. Kauffman, founder of the U.S. Catholic Historian. Father Endres will become editor with the publication of the winter 2013 issue.
Father Endres earned a Ph.D. from the School of Theology at the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. There he studied under Dr. Kauffman and served as his research assistant. Father Endres has written numerous articles on history and theology and is finishing his second book, a history of Franciscan parish life in America, which will be published next year.
