Three MTSM Seminarians Ordained to Diaconate
04.29.24Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) saw three men in formation for the priesthood ordained to the diaconate on Saturday, April 27. At the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains in downtown Cincinnati Rev. Mr. Kevin LeMelle and Rev. Mr. Adam Lewis were ordained deacons for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati by Diocese of Columbus Bishop (and MTSM alum) The Most Rev. Earl K. Fernandes. At his home parish of Saint Barnabas in Indianapolis, Rev. Mr. Liam Hosty was ordained to the diaconate by The Most Rev. Charles C. Thompson, Archbishop of Indianapolis.
This past weekend marks a busy ordination season, capping off an academic year that saw the Seminary go over 100 men studying for the priesthood for the first time in 45 years. God willing, MTSM will have a combined 28 men either being ordained deacons on the path to the priesthood or as priests for their respective dioceses.
The next ordinations for MTSM seminarians will take place on Saturday, May 18. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati will be back at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains for priesthood ordination, with seven men in formation at the Seminary scheduled to be ordained. Up North in the Diocese of Toledo that same day will be diaconate ordination, with three men set to be ordained at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral.
