Rev. Timothy Schehr was ordained to the priesthood in 1973 by Archbishop Joseph L. Bernardin for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. He serves as Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies, teaching various courses such as Old Testament Scriptures, Historical Themes and Wisdom Literature and Praying with Scripture for Pastoral Ministers. Until his retirement, he was the Ruth J. and Robert A. Conway Foundation Chair in Biblical Studies. Fr. Schehr is the author of two books published by St. Anthony Messenger Press, and for many years he was a regular contributor to serial publications of Franciscan Media and to The Catholic Telegraph.
Fr. Schehr received his Ph.D. from Hebrew Union College with the dissertation “Syntax of Moods and Tenses of the Greek in Septuagint Genesis 1-15.” He received a licentiate in sacred scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, and he is a graduate of the Athenaeum of Ohio.
