Lay Formation Outreach Initiatives

Our mission to form and educate laity for service to the Church and community extends beyond the classroom to staff members and volunteers in parishes, schools, and social service agencies. Workshops and pastoral modules are aimed to be customized to fit specific needs and offered at the MTSM campus or another convenient location within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. For information about initiatives, fees, availability, or to discuss a specific need, please contact the School of Theology at 513-233-6126 or admissions@athenaeum.edu.

Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) is now offering a course called ‘LIFE: Lay Identity, Family, & Evangelization’ (MTSM Course Code S416) at Parish Families around the Archdiocese.

This course introduces basic theological concepts and topics concerning the laity, the Christian family and the ecclesial task of evangelization. The course analyzes these theological concepts and topics through the study of Sacred Scripture, the Tradition, especially Vatican II, and in light of everyday experience of the laity living in secular society.
