October 5: Solemn Vespers & Organ Recital

On October 5, 2025, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology will celebrate Solemn Vespers at 7 p.m., preceded by an organ recital at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great.

November 9: Organ Recital – Visions of Heaven and Earth

Join Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology for an organ recital played by the eminent organist and scholar Dr. Kimberly Marshall, Professor of Organ at Arizona State University. The recital will take place on Sunday, November 9 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great on the monumental Pasi Opus 29 organ.

December 7: Solemn Vespers on the Eve of the Immaculate Conception

On December 7, 2025, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology will celebrate Solemn Vespers at 7:30 pm in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great.

January 11: Organ Recital – Visions of Eternity

Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology welcomes new Director of Music Dr. Christopher Holman, as he presents Visions of Eternity, an organ recital which traces the masterpieces of sacred organ repertoire throughout history, from the earliest surviving keyboard work to a world premiere by British composer Caitlin Harrison.

MTSM Welcomes Dr. Christopher Holman as New Director of Music

Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) is pleased to announce that renowned organist and scholar of music history, Dr. Christopher Holman, will be joining the MTSM faculty as the new Director of Music, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of the Sacred Music Institute.

Maly Library Welcomes Two New Librarians

Visitors to the Eugene H. Maly Memorial Library on the MTSM campus may have noticed two new faces recently added to its staff. In November, the library welcomed Kayla Morrell and Drew Timmons to the staff after the retirements of Karen Berno and Margie Wallace.

Rev. Eric Wood Completes Doctorate, Ready for Next Phase of Ministry

Anyone who has interacted with Rev. Eric M. Wood in the last fives years may not have known that in the time since he joined the priest faculty at MTSM, he has also been working on his Doctorate in Moral Theology at the Pontificia Accademia Alfonsiana in Rome.

MTSM Sees 45 Men Receive Ordination in Last Six Weeks

A busy season of priestly and diaconate ordinations for Mount St. Mary's Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) concluded recently when six men who had completed their priestly formation for the Diocese of Charlotte were ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Michael T. Martin, OFM Conv.

Rev. Ryan Ruiz Appointed Vice Rector, Director of Formation
