September 9: 2026 LeBlond Lecture

Join Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) for the Fall 2026 LeBlond Lecture on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bartlett Center at MTSM.
The lecture will be given by Michael Foley, Ph.D., professor of patristics at Baylor University. The title of the lecture is “How the Mass Shaped the Western World.”
Although the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated for the glory of God and the sanctification of souls, it has had a significant impact on culture. Professor Foley will discuss its impact on music, architecture, literature, and even cuisine.
The Fall 2026 LeBlond Lecture is open to the public and admission is free.
About Professor Foley
Michael Foley is a Professor of Patristics at Baylor University who specializes in the theology of St. Augustine, sacred liturgy, and the intersections of faith and culture. His writings on the liturgy include Lost in Translation: Meditating on the Orations of the Traditional Roman Rite (Angelico, 2023).
