Featuring Motzart’s Litany of the Virgin Mary and a series of patristic lessons and carols
On December 7, 2025, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology will celebrate Solemn Vespers at 7:30 pm in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great. The Vespers will feature a set of patristic readings with corresponding carols and motets. Highlights of this extended musical offering include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s stunning setting of the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, K. 109 for choir and orchestra, along with music by José Maurício Nunes Garcia, a Brazilian priest and composer who admired Mozart’s music and promoted the Classical style. There will be no pre-vespers organ recital.
Admission is free and open to the public.
