Fall 2025 – The Athenaeum Magazine
See the full Fall 2025 issue of The Athenaeum below. This issue celebrates the election of His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, and celebrates the beginning of his pontificate. This issue features special contributions from Rev. David J. Endres, Ph.D. and The Very Rev. Christopher R. Armstrong, J.C.D., S.T.D. about the Leonine Papacy.
The fall issue also celebrates the men who were ordained to the priesthood in the spring, spanning four dioceses including the Archdioceses of Cincinnati and Indianapolis and the Diocese of Charlotte and Toledo.
Much of the fall issue is dedicated to the new faces in and around the Seminary. The issue features articles about the newest members of the community including new Direct or Music, Christopher Holman DPhil, Rev. Peter A. Langenkamp, S.S.L. (Dean of Men and Instructor of Biblical Studies), Rev. Daniel P. Moloney, Ph.D. (Assistant Professor of Philosophy) and Dr. Joey Belleza (Director of Programming and Promotion in the School of Theology). The issue also provides an introduction to the two rookie members of MTSM’s Board of Trustees, Anthony J. Aretz, Ph.D. and Ernest E. Rummler.
Samuel B. Johnson, Ph.D., the Dean of the School of Theology and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, published his first book through Cambridge University Press in November The Life of Jesus in the Writing of Origen of Alexandria and discussed the writing process and what interested him so much in the topic.
There is also space to remember our recently departed friends, which include long-time priest faculty member and drive-time radio host in the Archdiocese Rev. Rob Jack, Rev. David Robisch, who served as a Spiritual Director at St. Gregory College Seminary in the 70s before a long tenure in the Archdiocese as a Pastor and Mr. Thomas E. Sedler, a generous benefactor to the Seminary.
The second half of the fall issue is dedicated to the Donor Honor Roll, thanking all the benefactors who have contributed financially to MTSM over the last fiscal year.
The Athenaeum is published twice a year for alumni, patrons and friends of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology. To be added to the mailing list, contact: Heidi Walsh at 513.233.6159 or hwalsh@athenaeum.edu.
