MTSM Community Takes Part in Flying Pig Marathon
05.10.24On Sunday, May 5, 18 members of the Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology community took part in the 2024 Flying Pig Marathon races in downtown Cincinnati. Many members of the group did the runs were making their debuts at distances that long.
The highlight of the day came from Emerson Wells, a propaedeutic stage seminarian from the Archdiocese of Louisville, who finished sixth overall in the full marathon in a time of 2:41:43. In addition to completing the race in an outstanding time, Wells was making his debut at the 26.2-mile marathon.

MTSM wants to thank Fr. Anthony Stoeppel (Dean of Men, Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology) and Dr. Mary Catherine Levri (Director of Music, Associate Professor of Music & Pastoral Studies) for working out the logistics for getting a “team tent” for the day and to seminarians who took time out of their Sunday morning to watch the tent while the race was going on.
MTSM also thanks Archdiocese of Cincinnati priests and alumni Fr. Ethan Moore and Fr. Jacob Willig for joining the group on Sunday and leading prayer before the race and both taking part in the full marathon.
