MTSM Holding Open Auditions for the Athenaeum Chorale

Auditions for the Athenaeum Chorale, a liturgical choral group that sings at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great, are now open through September 1, 2023. All interested singers age 18 and older are welcome to audition.

The Chorale season for 2023-24 will include two Solemn Vespers liturgies with choral concerts in the fall, including a special Advent service in honor of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, December 7. On October 8, the Chorale will perform Haydn’s Kleine Orgelsolomesse in honor of the arrival and blessing of the Chapel’s new organ, Pasi Opus 29.
The Chorale is made up of diocesan church musicians, professional section leaders from the Cincinnati area and other exceptional singers interested in performing great works of sacred music. Singing with the Chorale is a wonderful way to connect with fellow musicians and to participate in the rich liturgical life at MTSM.
