MTSM Sacred Music Institute Hosts Fall Organ Recital
11.12.24The Sacred Music Institute at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology hosted its annual fall organ recital on Sunday, November 10, in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great. MTSM was excited to welcome Amanda Mole, an internationally recognized organist. Mole’s hour-long program featured works from Mendelssohn, Schumann, Pachelbel, Weckmann, de Grigny and Bach.
Mole’s Weckmann piece, Magnificat II. Toni, was accompanied by an MTSM Latin Schola that consisted of seminarians Curtis Gross (Archdiocese of Cincinnati) and Benjamin Klare (Cincinnati) in III Theology, Shane Gerrity (Diocese of Columbus) and Evan Sharp (Cincinnati) in II Theology, Jacob Wilson (Columbus) in I Theology and Jeremy Smith (Diocese of Toledo) in the Propaedeutic Stage. The next Music & Liturgy event at MTSM will be on Sunday, December 8 with Solemn Vespers on the Eve of the Immaculate Conception at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Gregory the Great.
