School of Theology Summer 2024 Courses Now Available

Enrollment for Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology’s (MTSM) summer courses is available now. The School of Theology will be offering a pair of summer offerings, one on the Main Campus in Cincinnati that will be synchronously available online and another at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish in Springboro, Ohio.

In Cincinnati, Introduction to Catholic Political Philosophy (S 641) will be taught by Dr. Kenneth Craycraft, The James J. Gardner Family Chair of Moral Theology and Professor of Moral Theology at MTSM and offered on Tuesday and Thursdays from 7-9:40 p.m., beginning on May 21 and running through June 20.
In the course, students will learn about the Catholic role in the development of political thought, from Aristotle’s Ethics and writings of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. The goals of the course will be to learn how Catholic political philosophy contributes to a vision of the good life.
In addition to the offering in Cincinnati, the course will also be offered via online learning. When applying for the course (more here), students should choose the ‘WEB’ section should online be the preferred way to take the course.
Offered exclusively in person at St. Mary of the Assumption in Springboro, Tribunal Training (P 222) will be taught by Deacon Rich Hobbs on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-12:10 p.m., starting on May 18 and concluding on July 20. In the course, participants will learn about the Church’s law and perspective relative to marriage cases.
