17 Men Formed at MTSM Ordained to Priesthood in 2023-24

This past Saturday, June 22, Fr. Christopher Turner was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Toledo by The Most Rev. Daniel E. Thomas, Bishop of Toledo and a member of the MTSM Board of Trustees. Fr. Turner’s ordination concluded a busy 2023-24 for Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) on the ordination front, with 17 men who completed their formation at the Seminary being ordained to the priesthood.

While Fr. Turner’s ordination closes one chapter for the men, the next chapter of their ministry is about to begin for 16 of these men (Fr. Benjamin Fenlon was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph in December and has been in active ministry since). Starting on July 1, men ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Archdiocese of Louisville and Diocese of Toledo will begin their first parish assignments. The seven MTSM graduates from the Diocese of Charlotte will begin their first assignments on July 9.

MTSM will not be done assisting in the formation of men for the priestly ministry this year. Next academic year, God willing, 12 men who were ordained transitional deacons this year (learn more about them here) will be the next priesthood ordinations for their respective Dioceses.
