July 22-24: Sacred Music Institute Conference – Bridges of Beauty and Faith: Sacred Music in the Midst of Renewal
Location: Mount St. Mary's Seminary & School of Theology
The Sacred Music Institute at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology is pleased to announce our sixth annual conference for priests and church musicians, especially those seeking to renew their parish music programs. Attendees will enjoy keynote lectures, breakout sessions and workshops, choir rehearsals, and sung liturgies throughout each day.
“When liturgical music is inspired by faith and shaped with skill, it engages voice, mind, and heart. It becomes a path to prayer… Let us sing and walk. Let us build bridges of beauty and faith.” — Pope Leo XIV
Sacred music is not merely an adornment of the liturgy — it is a bridge between the visible and the invisible, the temporal and the eternal. As the Church in the United States experiences a quiet, yet undeniable, musical and liturgical renewal, many communities stand at the threshold between what is familiar and what has sustained saints and sinners alike for centuries. Inspired by Pope Leo XIV’s luminous reflection on polyphony, this conference explores how sacred music is a path to prayer, a bridge of beauty and faith that leads the mind, heart and soul more deeply into the mystery of divine worship.
